This Wednesday, Marketplace released a podcast called “The Better Battery”, part of a series of podcasts on the messy business of finding climate solutions. In this episode, Professor Gerbrand Ceder and Kristin Persson were interviewed by host Molly Wood on the the prospects for building better batteries, discussing topics such as the current areas for improvement in Li-ion batteries as well as the potential of new battery systems that use other materials such as sodium, calcium, and magnesium.
